Day 227 prompt: Damaged

I still relive
that reckless,
unprotected
moment
when the
pumping
and sliding
on the
kitchen counter
went too far,
leaving me
sore, bloody
and tearful

years later
this smooth
pink oval
remains
to blemish
my knuckle
disqualifying
me from
hand modeling
and warning
me to practice
safe slicing
