in her foyer

some odd number
of stems
crisscross dark
and straight within
the sheer red cylinder
all quite uniform
despite the varied
blooms above

also consistent
are the wedges
of water
between the stems
barely deviating
in width
or angle

she has
arranged
not just a
magnificent
bouquet
but also its
inconspicuous
support system
