announced
her obligations

rouse children
feed cats
serve breakfast
pack lunches
start laundry
wash dishes
walk dog

she did it all
smiling
humming
warmed
by the
generous shirt
he wore yesterday

inhaling one last
time while pulling
it overhead
feeling reluctant
but obliged
to shower
before PTA

lest someone
sense the sweet smell
of last night’s love
