Day 360 prompt: Breakfast
I recently learned
a weight loss plan
that sounded so easy
I decided, “I can.”
Lean animal protein:
just eat a small bit
a few minutes post-waking.
Nothing to it … that’s it.
But eating so early
just isn’t that easy.
Chicken at daybreak
makes me feel queasy.
I don’t care for salmon.
Morning cod don’t seem right.
A hard-boiled egg
requires foresight.
The snooze button prompts me
to lounge when I can.
An hour can pass
while I read, think and plan.
If late-night chocolate
and wine were in bounds,
I might have a chance
to lose a few pounds.
