our calico cat
so lean and petite
is trolling the house
on white cotton feet

heedless of odds
and to our surprise
she carries ‘round objects
at least twice her size

she pushes around
a hot pink stuffed poodle
and navigates stairs
with a swimming pool noodle

she displaces rugs
and wrestles with towels
if she wants my pillow
she hunches and growls
