Imagine receiving this instruction and having (gasp!) NO tubes on hand.

Then what? Would you unwind the nearly full roll hanging in your bathroom? Go door to door, begging neighbors for their almost-empty rolls? Fashion your own tubes from brown construction paper?

Fortunately, this was not my problem to solve today, because …

I am a toilet paper tube hoarder.

I have been saving TP tubes for quite some time. I can envision at least a dozen creative, thrifty, environmentally conscious uses for them. So I keep the tubes in bags, here and there around the house, just waiting for that moment when time and inspiration will collide in a glorious moment of crafty genius.

Meanwhile, I am well-stocked to form words on the carpet.
