On this insanely cold Chicago day, my feet have been snuggled into thick socks and furry slippers. But a year and a half ago, when the weather was warm and sunny, I had a new pair of impractical shoes. Strappy and sparkly, with ridiculous height. Inspired by them, I wrote a poem about high heels.
Today I used those words to create a tiny pair of shoes.
In truth, I made the left shoe, and my fifth-grade-daughter-the-origami-expert made the right. I’m proud of my effort, because my paper shoe looks as good as hers.
