My hands are seldom idle.
For eight or nine hours each work day, they are busy at the keyboard, tapping out business writing for clients of Spencer Grace.
After hours, these hands could stay on the move with writing or cooking or stitching or beading or knitting or even cleaning.
But they don’t.
Instead, my hands have lapsed into lazy habits. Chiefly: swiping an iPad screen and cradling a wine glass.
So I’ve been challenging these hands to find alternative exercise with a sketchbook and drawing tools. Zentangle-style doodling keeps my hands moving, my body still, and my mind focused.
This seems like healthier use of not-so-idle hands, don’t you think?
