The make something prompt today recommended that I “reinvent the wheel” by making something that would roll downhill.
I may have overthought this.
Rolling made me think of things that are cyclical. This year of creative exploration has taught me that my creative process is round. Sometimes it seems to start with an idea, sometimes a failure, sometimes a success. Always, there is learning that prompts the next stage in the cycle.
I’d say the cycle looks something like this:
As “wheel-like” as that image is, it will not literally roll down a hill. So I transferred the cycle’s steps to a cylinder (let’s be honest: a toilet paper tube):
Finally, I laid that tube on its side and let it roll down a slanted board:
And that, dear friends, is how my creative process rolls.
